Charlottesville BJJ COVID-19 ReOpening plan — Update 5/1/21

Hi team,

Thank you all for your diligence and understanding in following our COVID-19 safety protocols over the past year. Your support and these guidelines have allowed us to keep training, while keeping each other safe. Training with restrictions has not always been easy, and we’re proud of our team for making it here.

Based on local guidelines, the percentage of our members who are fully vaccinated, and the success of our reopening steps so far, we are able to remove some of those precautions.

Parents observing Juniors class: Two family members per household will be able to observe during Kids & Juniors classes. Family members must have an active waiver and contact information on file.

New Members: We’re accepting new members regardless of vaccination status.

Vaccination: While not required, it is helpful for us to note the percentage of our students who are vaccinated. If you are fully vaccinated please bring your card in so we can note it on your membership account.

Remaining Precautions: A few precautions will remain in place until we are completely out of the woods. We are closely monitoring Charlottesville, VA and US cases and the CDC guidelines.

  • If you travel, attend a large group gathering, or compete, wait a week before returning to training unless you are fully vaccinated.
  • We will be ready to have members check in 15 minutes before class start time. Please refrain from entering the building prior to that.

We can’t wait to have everyone back on the mats together. Thank you for continuing to weather the storm with us. The struggle has only made us stronger.

Thank you for all your support and friendship!
