Types of Jiu-Jitsu Classes and Training

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is not like any other martial art. There is no unified method of teaching BJJ. It is left up to the head instructor of the school to format the program with different types of classes. These can vary from school to school and from instructor to instructor.

We offer a variety of training types that form the foundation of our Jiu-Jitsu program:

  • Group Instructed Classes
    • BJJ Basic Courses – Entry level
    • Level 1 – White belt to Blue belt
    • Level 2 – Blue and up
  • Drill/Roll Practice Sessions
  • Situational Marathons
  • Competition Training
  • Open Mats

However, there are also other types of classes that are great opportunities to excel outside of our normal program times and classes:

  • Private Jiu Jitsu lessons // 1-on-1 with coach
  • Semi-private Lessons // 2-4 participants
  • Group private workshops// 5+ participants

Our coaches put in long hours planning classes, training, and forming curriculum for the whole program. The basic combination of classes we offer is a balance of group classes, open mats, and situational roll training, which is a great routine for development. However, there may be times when you need extra help and guidance, or want the undivided attention of the instructors.
